Roger Guillemin who won the 1977 Nobel Prize for Medicine for research conducted while he was at Baylor. His surgical achievements drew worldwide attention and top researchers to Baylor and to the Texas Medical Center, including Dr. DeBakey was named chair of surgery at the school.
